What caused Kristen Bell to have a minor emotional breakdown?

Kristen Bell really, really loves sloths, so what better way for her to celebrate her birthday than by hanging around with one of the cheerful-looking critters that love hanging upside down?

Kristen's incredibly thoughtful fiancé Dax Shepard brought one home for a surprise visit on her 31st birthday, but he was probably a little shocked at how Kristen reacted - instead of squealing with excitement, she completely freaked out and started crying hysterically. Luckily Dax taped the embarrassing (but adorable) ordeal.

So when she sensed the sloth was coming for her 31st birthday, Bell said she didn't know how to process its arrival since she had been waiting for the day she'd meet one for so long. Then, the actress bravely showed the home video footage of her crying on her bed, unable to cope with such a momentous occasion in a sloth lover's life.

Cynthia Nixon Goes Bald for a Role

On Tuesday's "Live! With Kelly" Cynthia Nixon debuted a new look - a shaved head! She's only the latest lovely lady in the entertainment industry to shave her hair for a role.

The actress, best known for her role as Miranda Hobbs on the award winning HBO show, made the radical change to her appearance for her latest role as Vivian Bearing, a poetry professor battling terminal cancer in the Broadway show "Wit".

"I thought it was kind of gonna be a no muss-no fuss, but I have to shave it every day!" Nixon said of the big change. "It's got kind of a five o'clock shadow, and you don't want to go go on with that. I was always kind of curious to see what it would be like. I like it; I don't thing I'm gonna keep it forever."

The role is one that is near and dear to Nixon's heart after she personally battled with breast cancer in 2008.

So besides it's shock value, shaving your head for a role can be a good move for an actress.

He also gave the play itself a thumbs-up overall, saying it is a fine example of the 'artistic impact of stark simplicity'

It makes starring in this production an extra special honour for Cynthia, especially as luvvie favourite Emma Thompson and Ugly Betty star Judith Light have both starred in the leading role previously.

It is another milestone in a career that has seen her win multiple awards for her role as Sex and the City's Miranda Hobbes, feature in films such as Addams Family Values and even appear in television classics such as Murder She Wrote.

Liam Neeson's tops box office with $70M

"The Grey," starring Liam Neeson -- Open Road Film's second release ever -- is poised to debut as the No. 1 movie at the domestic box office this weekend.

The film is expected to easily beat this weekend's other new releases, Lionsgate's "One for the Money" and Summit's "Man on a Ledge."

It's an unusual weekend at the box office. Joe Carnahan, Ridley Scott and Tony Scott produced "The Grey," Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Mark Vahradian produced "Man on a Ledge" and Katherine Heigl and Sidney Kimmel produced "One for the Money."

"Ledge" is a thriller and "Money" is an action-comedy.

In limited release this weekend is Roadside Attractions' "Albert Nobbs," which won Glenn Close an Academy Award nomination. Other Oscar nominees expanding this weekend are "The Descendants," which will increase from 560 to 1,997 locations and "The Artist," which is going fro 662 locations to 900.

While Open Road, which launched last March, would be happy to break double-digits, less conservative box-office watchers outside Open Road believe the R-rated action drama will gross about $14.5 million.

The movie, which Carnahan directed, is tracking well, according to the research firm NRG. Sixty-three percent of those surveyed by NRG reported some awareness of the movie and 38 percent reported "definite" interest in seeing it. Of all the movies opening this weekend, more people -- 7 percent of everyone, 11 percent of men younger than 25 and 12 percent of men 25 and older -- said "The Grey" was their "first choice."

Critics generally like the film, which opens at 3,185 locations. The website Metacritic.com, which measures critical response to movies, gave it a strong Metascore of 63.

Open Road, financed by exhibitors AMC Entertainment and Regal Entertainment Group, released its first movie, "Killer Elite," in 2011.

That R-rated action thriller was a flop, grossing $53 million worldwide on a $70 million budget.

Demi Moore hospitalized after inhaling whip-its full of nitrous oxide, report says

Why Was Demi Moore Hospitalized?

TMZ.com reports that friends at Moore’s home told emergency workers that Moore had been doing whippits, a term for inhaling nitrous oxide, before suffering symptoms of a seizure, which is what prompted the call to 911.

"Because of the stresses in her life right now, Demi has chosen to seek professional assistance to treat her exhaustion and improve her overall health," her rep said of Moore's condition in a statement. "She looks forward to getting well and is grateful for the support of her family and friends." 

After enduring a very public and emotional split from husband Ashton Kutcher back in November, it's easy for fans and the media to assume "the stresses" her rep's statement refers to are most likely the emotional fallout from her impending divorce. Demi moore publicly announced the breakup with "sadness and a heavy heart" after months of not-so-quiet rumblings that Kutcher was unfaithful.

Because of her current issues, Demi moore has had to drop out of "Lovelace," the biopic about the life of Linda Lovelace. She was set to cameo as Gloria Steinem in the film, which stars Amanda Seyfried as the titular porn star.

Kim Kardashian is officially becoming a "Diva."

Kim Kardashian has signed on for a new TV project, but this time she won't be playing herself. The 30-year-old reality star has booked a multi-episode arc on Drop Dead Diva, Lifetime announced Thursday.

Kardashian will make her first appearance in the Season 4 premiere. star. She is also co-starring in Tyler Perry's upcoming film, The Marriage Counselor. Her previous credits include CSI: NY, and she will also play herself on a February episode of Last Man Standing.

Kardashian will play Nikki, who becomes both a love interest to guardian angel Fred (played by Ben Feldman) and, perhaps awkwardly, a new business partner to Fred’s former flame, Stacy.
